Make a Difference - Become a Project Able Volunteer

Project Able is looking for volunteers.

If you have experience of towing glider trailers, rigging/de-rigging gliders or gliding operations then YOU are just who we are looking for!

Project Able is a charitable endeavour and its aim is to return a number of ex-military Grob 109b Vigilant motor gliders back to flight for societal use. The Vigilant motor glider was used to train thousands of UK Air Cadets between 1989 and 2016. The aim of Project Able is to modernise as many of the aircraft as possible and give them a new lease of life.

In addition to Aerobility operating the aircraft for the benefit of disabled people and wounded veterans, the sale of a number of refurbished Grob 109B Able will raise vital funds to support disabled flying into the future.

As a Project Able Volunteer, you need to be willing and able to travel to various locations including Little Rissington, Watton, Abingdon, Membury, Blackbushe and St Athan to load and unload motor gliders from trailers. If suitably experienced you will also tow glider trailers on public roads. Induction training is provided and Aerobility will re-imburse fuel costs for necessary journeys made in your private vehicle.
