First Junior Aviation Course at Lydd Airport Takes to the Skies!

Last month saw an exciting milestone as we proudly delivered our very first Junior Aviation Course at our site based at Lydd Airport in Kent.

The well established Junior Aviation Course was created with a simple but powerful purpose: to give young disabled people the opportunity to explore the world of aviation, develop new skills and knowledge, and build confidence as they consider their future ambitions. Throughout the programme, participants get the chance to learn about different aspects of aviation, ask questions, engage in hands-on activities, and gain valuable insight into the industry in a relaxed and inclusive environment.

The success of the latest JAC is owed to the dedicated instructors and volunteers from Lydd Aero Club whose enthusiasm, generosity, and passion for aviation played a vital role in making the course such a memorable experience. By sharing their expertise and experiences, they helped inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts and demonstrated the incredible value of community support within the industry to our Kent participants.

Aerobility is also extremely grateful to the team at Lydd Airport for their outstanding support and for providing the facilities that enabled us to bring this course to life. Their commitment to supporting youth engagement and aviation education helped create the perfect environment for learning and discovery.

"Lydd Airport was proud to have hosted Aerobility recently, the inspiring charity that makes the freedom of flight accessible to people with disabilities. As one of four venues used by Aerobility, we're delighted to play a part in supporting their charity operations and the incredible work they do through flying lessons and aviation-based programmes. Aerobility helps participants build confidence, independence and ambition, taking the ‘dis’ out of disability and proving that aviation can be open to everyone. It was a pleasure to host Aerobility at Lydd Airport, alongside Lydd Aero Club, and to support their ongoing mission to make aviation more accessible." - Lydd Airport

Our first Junior Aviation Course at Lydd Airport was a memorable achievement, and Aerobility wishes every participant the very best of luck in their future endeavours. Thank you to all those who contributed their time, expertise, and encouragement to make it such a success.

We are already looking forward to running future courses, helping even more young people discover the exciting possibilities that aviation has to offer across the UK.
