The Programme - Explained
Aspire-Ability is made up of four components. Each experience provides a bespoke learning opportunity that collectively forms one incredible kick-start in any aviation journey.
Virtual Flight Session
Meet up with a flight instructor via video call for a 1-1 interactive flying lesson online from your very home. A perfect way to get acquainted with the aeroplane and it’s controls and prepare for what’s to come.
Real Flying Lesson
Take to the real skies from one of our four bases, flying in one of our adapted aeroplanes for an introduction beyond the clouds. The true way to experience the magic of flight.
Aviation Industry Visit
Join a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes at an aviation/aerospace industry visit. Chat to real employees and hear what career opportunities may lie ahead.
Bespoke Career Talk
Access a real careers talk lead from real aviation professionals and hear how they navigated through the industry. Perfect opportunity to ask burning questions and set yourself up for the future.
THE DETAILS
WHEN?
As an Aspire-Ability participant, you’ll be guided through each component of the course and awarded a certificate upon completion of all four experiences. With no fixed start or end dates, you can tailor the course to fit around your schedule. You will be provided optional dates for certain parts of the course depending on your assigned base. This flexible structure makes it ideal for enthusiastic individuals who are eager to make the most of every opportunity.
WHO?
This programme is open to people living in the UK with a disability and aged between 12-18.
Aspire-Ability is designed for enthusiastic individuals who have a genuine passion for aviation and are considering a career within the industry. You do not have to be an aspiring pilot, there are so many more positions that make up the network of this industry and that is what this course will show you.
Navigating the aviation and aerospace industry can be daunting, confusing, and even expensive. Yet it is vital for the future of the industry that young, enthusiastic people are encouraged to enter it. Equally important is ensuring that people with disabilities have the same opportunities to access the sector, helping to build a diverse and inclusive workforce. Aspire-Ability was created to do exactly this, to encourage aspirations and support people with disabilities to pursue careers around aircraft, in airports, and within the many companies that make up this incredible industry.

Aerobility currently operates across four UK bases, with the hope that this number will rise again in the near future. Your location will be considered upon application and you will be assigned to the nearest base subject to availability. Check out our current locations in the map below:
