Where aviation for disabled people meets sustainability.
Meet G-OFTR
This is no ordinary aeroplane, this is a 100% electric, Pipistrel Velis Electro. The first ever certified electric powered aircraft fully approved for pilot training in day VFR operations in more than 30 countries, including the UK.
Simple flying without the fuss
There are a huge range of benefits that this aircraft brings to our charity and our flyers
Unlike the complicated start-up procedure of a conventionally powered airplane, the Velis Electro is powered-up by only four switches and simply requires a quick check of power before take-off. Flying this aeroplane feels incredible, not only are the controls easy to manipulate but the cockpit is also incredibly quiet.
Power comes from Pipistrelʼs own type-certified electric engine, the E-811, producing 57.6 kW from a 345 VDC electric system and in-house developed dual battery system. This revolutionary powertrain is entirely liquid cooled, can be charged through the on-board charging port with an external charger and has demonstrated high levels of safety.
Together with the low cost of operation and lower maintenance costs when compared to standard light-aircraft maintenance costs, The Velis Electro is both environmentally friendly and cost effective. This makes it the perfect aeroplane to use to make the magic of flight even easier to experience.
Supplied and leased through NEBOAir, G-OFTR is now available to book at Aerobility. Standard charity rules apply whereby all flyers must have a disability; however no previous aviation experience is needed!
This aircraft is perfect for people wanting to take the ‘fuss’ out of flying and try something new and exciting.
Thanks to the ongoing funding support from 4AIR we are able to bring this new era of sustainable flight to the disabled flying community.
“Accessible flight and sustainable flight should move forward together and we are proud to support Aerobility’s mission, helping to broaden participation in aviation’s future.” - Kennedy Ricci, President of 4AIR

This aircraft will not be accessible to everyone due to its size and space limitations. However, it represents an important step forward in Aerobility’s longer journey towards a more accessible and sustainable future in aviation.
