Aerobility, through Able Gliding is thrilled to announce, that with support from Lasham Gliding Society and Women in Aviation based at Lasham, we are able to offer 3 women living a disability the chance to undertake a learning to glide initiative.

The scholarship consists of an initial introductory aerotow flight to 2,500 feet where you can expect 20-25 mins of flight training above the Hampshire countryside. The award also includes 2 months free membership of Lasham Gliding Society, where there will be further funded opportunities for gliding using the alternative Winch Launching method to get airborne and continue your learning journey.

This is an excellent opportunity to see how gliding is such an accessible team sport with great camaraderie and the chance to get involved in all aspects of the activity.

Lasham Gliding Society operates specially adapted training aircraft that are capable of allowing people with little or no leg mobility, the chance to use hand controls in lieu of rudder pedals. This allows people with a lower limb physical disability a true level playing field that overcomes any difficulties experienced in daily life and opens up the skies to glide at your leisure.

Applications are invited from individuals that would like to be part of this Able Gliding venture.

Applicants will need to be available on 8th September meeting at Lasham Airfield 1600hrs to begin the journey.
